Knuckle Band Heaters

The Knuckle Band, a segmented ceramic band heater, was designed by Fast Heat to provide evenly-distributed heat on extrusion and injection moulding barrels.

Best suited for low to moderate temperatures, the Knuckle Band is constructed of precision-made segmented ceramics in order to add flexibility and allow for easy installation.

Knuckle bands are normally supplied with a termination box.

Lead Options

Plain Leads

• Jacketed for continuous service up to 250^oC (482^oF) with nickel stranded conductors.
• High temperature mica tape lead wire is suitable up to 450^oC (842^oF) maximum, with Nickel stranded conductors.

Silicone Sleeving

• Fibreglass silicone rubber coated sleeving class c - 1, 200^oC (392^oF) service.
• Provides extra insulation where wire is exposed to heat, molten plastics or abrasion.
• Rated at 1500V at 200^oC (428^oF).

Stainless Steel Braid

• Stainless Steel over braid is most commonly specified in applications where leads may be subjected to abrasion due to movement of the application, lead wires may be rubbing together or passing over sharp objects.

Stainless Steel Armour

• Used over leads in areas where more protection is necessary.
• Selected for similar applications as the Stainless Steel Braid, in addition to applications where non-fluid contamination may come in contact with the leads.
• The lead protection is not as flexible as Stainless Steel Braid.
