Precision 'D' Series Bushings
	The Precision 'D' series pinpoint bushes are simple to install and use and are ideal for applications where gating directly on to a part with a minimal gate vestige is essential, The pinpoint tip coil heater and thermocouple are easily replaceable in the press for easy installation and maintenance. The flow of material is internal and direct. The pinpoint bushings heat is external and is generated by a rectangular coil heater (230V ac). A stainless steel cover holds the coil heater in contact with the body of the bushing, ensuring good heat distribution. A thermocouple is located close to the flow channel thus permitting tight control of the temperature of the material. The pinpoint gate diameters range from .7mm to 1.5mm (.027" to 0.060") giving a nominal gate vestige of between .2mm and .3mm (.008" to .012"). The pinpoint bushing can be used for all general purpose materials and most engineering grade materials, subject to consultation with the factory. 	Precision 'DG' Series - Direct Feed The Precision DG Direct Feed bush is primarily intended for use singly in direct-feed applications, although it may also be used on multi-drop manifold systems if required. It is available with a choice of 6 different replaceable tip styles, some having wear resistant variants for use with filled polymers. By choosing different tip styles, the bush can be used for pinpoint-gating direct on to the part for a minimal gate scar, or for indirectly gating multiple cavities via a cold runner. 	Precision 'DG' Series - Multi-Drop The Multi-Drop version of the Precision DG is identical to the Direct Feed version, except that the heater and thermocouple have redesigned lead exits so that they can be replaced with the tool still in the press, without disturbing the manifold. By using our Bush Extraction Flange, the complete bush assembly can be removed with the tool still in the press. 	Precision 'DG' Tips Pinpoint (PP) For direct gating on parts with minimal gate scar. Available in standard alloy, stainless steel, medium wear resist and high resist versions. Suitable for use with virtually all polymers. Extended Pinpoint (XP) For direct gating on parts with minimal gate scar, for gating inside parts or where the gate area is difficult to reach with a standard tip. Available in standard alloy only. Recommended for use with commodity polymers only. Thru' Flow (TP) For direct gating on parts when moulding polymers that are prone to showing flow lines, for example, Polycarbonate or metallic appearance polymers. Available in standard alloy only. Gate Insert (RG) For direct gating on parts with minimal gate scar, where an enclosed gate is preferred. For example, on Aluminium tools. Leaves a 10mm diameter witness ring on the part. Available in hardened steel only. Recommended for use with commodity polymers only. Sprue (SS) For gating on the flat face of trapezoidal or half-round runners. Available in hardened steel only. Extended Sprue (XS) For gating on runners where the runner form is to be cut across the face tip. Available in hardened steel only.

	Gate Styles 'DS' Style bushings can be used for both general purpose and engineering grade materials. Gate styles 1 and 2 should be selected for minimum gate vestige. Gate styles 3 and 4 should be selected for engineering grade materials with a mini-sprue approximately 7mm long for style 3 and 12mm long for style 4. Type 1 Pinpoint For direct gating on parts, leaving a short gate vestige approximately 1mm high. Suitable for use with amorphous polymers only. Suggested material usage: PS, PE, PP, SAN, ABS, PMMA, PC, PPO. Gate diameter (A) is 1.2mm unless specified. Type 2 Pinpoint - Recess Gate For use as Type 1, but with a radiused front face for recessing the gate into the part. Suitable for use with amorphous polymers only. Suggested material usage: PS, PE, PP, SAN, ABS, PMMA, PC, PPO. Gate diameter (A) is 1.2mm unless specified. Type 3 Mini-Sprue 7mm High / Long For gating on the flat face of trapezoidal or half-round runners. Suitable for use with all polymers. Type 4 Mini-Sprue 12mm High / Long With Extra Stock Use as for Type 3, but with extra stock for gating on runners where the runner form is to be cut across the tip face. Suitable for use with all polymers.
	Precision 'DS' Series - Multidrop The Multi-Drop version of the Precision DS is identical to the Direct Feed version, except that the heater and thermocouple have redesigned lead exits so that they can be replaced with the tool still in the press, without disturbing the manifold. 	Precision 'DS' & 'DG' Series - Accessories Pressure Ring !!MA010021 now replaced with MA010030 Pressure rings MA010021* and MA010022 provide extra support under the head to prevent the bushing being pressed into the tool plate from the force of a machine nozzle and / or other pressure. These rings can be supplied by Fast Heat or can be built-in by your Toolmaker, if required.
	Insulation Washer The insulation washer, MA010024, is recommended for processing all materials to minimize any freeze off or heat loss around the head area in single drop applications.
	Reduction Ring Reduction rings (MA010023) for Precision Series Bushings are designed to give very fast colour changes and reduce frictional heat at the gate on heat sensitive materials.
