Solid State Relays (SSR's) are high-speed semiconductor load switching relays that when used with 3-Term (PID) temperature controllers provide a much improved accuracy and reliability than contactor alternatives.

SSR's are cheap and reliable, they have no moving parts to wear out, a quick response time, enabling tighter control of the application and silent operation.

The design of the case removes the need for a separate finger-guard as contact between the terminals and fingers is prevented by integral guards.

The SSR's are available with either a low voltage dc input for direct connection to a suitably equipped temperature controller, or with a high voltage ac input for temperature controllers for direct replacement of a contactor.

Logic Input: For use with temperature controllers with dc voltage outputs.

Mains Input: For use with temperature controllers with a relay output which is switching a high ac voltage. This option is typically for use in systems that previously used a contactor.

Heatsink: A heatsink is available to substantially increase the heat disipation of the SSR. An optional clip is available to enable to heatsink to be mounted onto a DIN rail.

NOTE: We recommend the use of a heat transfer compound applied between the base of the SSR and the metal fixing plate or heatsink in all applications. This is to increase the transfer of heat away from the SSR, improving reliability. Infrakote heat transfer compound is ideal for this application.
